Economic and Health Outcomes of Different Stress Testing Strategies following Myocardial Infarction

This study will evaluate various stress testing strategies in elderly patients following myocardial infarction.

The specific aims of this project are:

1. to determine the health and economic outcomes of different stress-testing strategies in elderly patients following admission for acute MI and
2. to determine the patient, hospital and local area related variables that are associated with each stress testing strategy. The stress testing strategies being studied are stress echocardiography, planar perfusion imaging, SPECT perfusion imaging, treadmill testing without imaging, angiography, or no testing.
