In this study, researchers will examine the behavioral and neural responses of younger and older adults during decision-making and during the resolution of cognitive and emotion-based conflicts. The study results will shed light on age-related psychological and biological mechanisms that underlie basic decision-making processes. They will also have implications for understanding how the elderly make healthcare decisions, and how healthcare information might be presented most effectively to younger and older individuals.
This study is a seed project for the Center on Advancing Decision Making for Aging.
