CHP/PCOR associate Ciaran Phibbs was the lead author of a recent Stanford/VA study that found that premature newborns face a higher risk of death when treated in smaller intensive care units at community hospitals. Other CHP/PCOR members who worked on the study include fellow Laurence Baker and adjunct associate Roderic Phibbs .

The study also received coverage from the Associated Press -- the AP piece appeared in the Boston Globe, Forbes.com, and the Seattle Times, among other outlets.
