
Paper on public health improvements and health advances wins sociology award
A paper co-authored by CHP/PCOR core faculty member Grant Miller, on "The Role of
Public Health Improvements in Health Advances: The Twentieth Century United States," has been selected as the winner of a new award given by the American Sociological Association's Section on the Sociology of Population.
The biennial award recognizes distinguished contribution to literature in population, and will be announced next month at the annual meeting of the American Sociological Association (held August 11-14 in Montreal). The award-winning paper was published in February 2005 in Demography, and was co-authored by David Cutler of Harvard University's Department of Economics.
