In news articles, editorial, Parsonnet comments on stomach cancer study

A new Chinese study, published in the Jan. 14 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association, found that antibiotics can help prevent stomach cancer in people who carry the common bacteria H. pylori. But an accompanying editorial, co-authored by CHP/PCOR associate Julie Parsonnet, says the study doesn't resolve the question of whether to employ widespread screening for the bacteria. A Jan. 13 Associated Press article, which covers the study and includes comments by Parsonnet, appeared in The New York Times and in more than 25 other newspapers nationally. Read more »
