The Physician Post-residency Fellowship in Health Services Research and Development trains physicians for leadership positions in health services research, primary care research and education. The program of study is flexible, accommodating a variety of career goals. The primary focus is providing research skills needed for a career in academic medicine.

The Special Fellowship Program in Advanced Geriatrics (SFPAG), sponsored by the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System, is a two-year program training program to develop leadership in geriatrics that includes significant research time, as well as clinical and leadership development activities.
