In the near future older adults may have to take increasingly more responsibility in managing their own assets. However, very little is presently known about how financial decision making changes with increasing age. Age-related psychological biases in decision making not only have monetary consequences but also can have consequences for health and well being. The results of three cross-sectional studies will be presented which provide an initial glimpse at age differences in components underlying financial decision making, such as incentive anticipation, incentive learning, and risk taking.
