CHP/PCOR director Alan Garber will discuss the basics of formulating a proposal or application for research funding. The discussion will focus on Public Health Service grants (such as to the National Institutes of Health or the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality), discussing the structure of the grant proposal, strategies for preparing a research plan and turning it into a strong application for support, and common flaws.

Attendees are encouraged to bring draft proposals if they would like to discuss specific aspects. This will be an informal presentation and discussion.
