Honors
Among the honors received by CDEHA participants are the following:
In 1999, Mark McClellan received a Career Development Award from
the National Institute on Aging. Also in 1999, he also received
the Griliches Award for Best Applied Paper in the Quarterly Journal
of Economics/Journal of Political Economics..
Mary Goldstein received two awards. From 1996-1999, she received
a career development award in health services research and development
(HSR&D), from the Department of Veterans Affairs. She has
also been awarded, from 2000 through 2002, an advanced career development
award in HSR&D from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Since the commencement of our Center, Alan Garber, CDEHA Director,

Job Opportunities
National Institutes of Health, National Institute on Aging, and
Behavioral and Social Research Program (BSR) have one Branch Chief
and two Health Scientist Administrator jobs available in a fast-paced
extramural research program office. BSR, one of four NIA extramural
research programs, supports training and basic social and behavioral
research on aging processes and older people in society. For additional
